@Home: Against the Clock - Quick Tips To Help You Better Prepare For The Day Ahead!
By JOANNA JOHNSON
Life can be one big rush. Some mornings we just don’t have the time to slow down. We scurry around trying to do everything before we have to leave for work or school, and sometimes we end up missing a few things because there’s simply not enough time or worse, we don’t remember.
It’s often said, ‘haste makes waste’, so we came up with a few useful tips to help you get more organised and lessen the ‘rush’ in the mornings.
Tip #1
Prepare your bag from the night before. This step saves you a whole lot of time because you won’t have to be scurrying around in the morning trying to find everything that you need for the day. You’ll need only grab your bag and go!
DO NOT HIT THAT SNOOZE BUTTON! Try to wake up as soon as your alarm goes off so that you have adequate time to prepare yourself for the day ahead. If you want to take it a step further, you can even try waking up before your alarm so that you get extra time to get things in order before you need to leave.
Tip #3
Don’t just jump out of bed and get going. Now, this doesn’t mean laying in bed and thinking about the sleep you’re missing out on; it means you should make your bed as soon as you get out of it. This step allows you to cross one small task off of your checklist early and prepares you to have a productive day, as one small accomplishment leads to others. Plus, everyone loves a warm and neat bed to lie in after a long day.
Tip #4
Yummies for the tummy are essential in the mornings. We all know the benefits of a healthy breakfast, but when we’re in a hurry, we often go without. Consider preparing your breakfast from the night before, especially if it’s something that requires much time. If you aren’t able to get it ready from the night before, don’t worry. You can still prepare something that’s quick and easy before you go through the door. Making a fruit salad, a tasty sandwich or just grabbing some granola bars and yoghurt are all easy options to choose from.

Check all appliances, doors and windows before you leave. Ensure that you turn off the stove, close the refrigerator door and plug out everything that needs to be unplugged. Plus, be sure to check and double check all doors and windows so no one comes in while you’re out. Doing these checks not only gives you peace of mind when you are on the go but it also saves you money and time in the long run.
Try putting these tips into practice and let us know how much easier your mornings become. Who knows, you might find that you have extra time to spare in the mornings after settling into this new routine!
